Police Officer Helps Deliver Baby in Traffic, Honored with Special Baby Photoshoot

After making a routine traffic stop, Constable Mark Deibold is shocked to find a woman in labor. The ‘man in blue’ stepped up to the plate to guarantee the safety of the future mother and her baby.

During a normal day on duty, Officer Deibold noticed a car speeding through the traffic on a Texas highway. The law officer immediately turned on his sirens and proceeded to force the out of control vehicle to the side of the road.

Following proper procedure, Deibold walked to the driver’s side window. Instantly, the officer is confronted with a shocking situation. There in the vehicle were Caleb and Destiny Hall, seconds away from the birth of their daughter. Already in labor, Destiny needed immediate medical attention.

Without hesitation, Officer Deibold attempted to escort the couple to the nearest hospital. Right away, it was clear the mom-to-be would not make it before her daughter arrived. The policeman understood it was time to step in.

“[Caleb] started screaming for me and I ran to the passenger side. There were no complications. He [Caleb] caught the baby, I cleared the airway and she started crying,” Officer Deibold explained. “I wrapped her in a blanket and put her on mom. It was an awesome experience,” the Deputy added.

The birth of the couple’s daughter, Evelyn, bonded the trio together. So much, in fact, that the Halls requested a ‘police themed’ photoshoot with Deibold. Destiny enlisted the expertise of Cyndi Williams. So inspired by the feel-good story, Cyndi offered to take the photos for free. The pictures were perfect.

“…I really wanted to give him something to memorialize this day…something sweet to have. This event was really life-changing,” Destiny said.
