Sometimes the cruelty of the world is almost too much to bear. It is hard to understand why anyone would want to torment or hurt an animal, and when stories of cruelty come out, it’s sometimes hard to believe in there actually being good in the world. But then a group of people (or person) will come in, and show that there is still light in a world consistently filled with darkness.
That is definitely the truth for Pascal’s life. Pascal survived an almost insurmountable amount of cruelty, but was saved in the nick of time by some loving people that are part of a rescue group. Pascal suffered at the hands of a group of children who thought it would be funny to cover the dog in super glue and then drag him through the mud. Throughout the ordeal, the glue dried into an almost cement-like paste, cutting off blood flow and circulation to multiple areas on this poor dog’s body. His feet were broken as he was dragged through the mud. His spirit was broken at the hands of these cruel children.
Heart of Rescue organization received Pascal in a cardboard box as soon as they opened, and when they pulled the poor dog out of the box, he went and hid in a dark corner of the exam room, trying to get as far away from people as possible. But the poor animal could barely walk, whimpering with every step he took because of his broken bones and burned skin.
The circulation being cut off is not the only problem the glue caused. It also caused extensive chemical burns throughout the entirety of the pitiful pup’s body. He is now fighting an infection and had to be completely shaved and will continue to have skin care for his burns over the course of the next few months. It is unsure as to when or if his spirit will be mended, even though he is now surrounded by nothing but love and kindness.
This poor dog’s experience is something that is becoming too common. Animal cruelty is not funny, but animal rescue will always be sweet. Pascal, we wish you the best and you deserve nothing but love.
