Denny Preston built a career as a decorated law enforcement officer for the Coon Rapids Police Department in Ostego, Minnesota. The respected member of the community would keep that reputation after choosing to spend his final days at home.

The heroic father served on the force for 26 years, risking and sacrificing his life all in the name of the job. After putting up a tough fight, Officer Denny Preston sadly lost his battle against cancer. The man’s former co-workers honored him and his family with an official escort from the hospice center to his home.

The retired officer was stunned to see the entire police force lining his driveway. The men in uniform stood in a final salute at his choice to spend time with his family.  The men and women continued to offer “thank you’s” for his service while adding his legacy wouldn’t be forgotten anytime soon.

At 72-years-old, Denny Preston’s family celebrated his life as a loving husband, a devoted father, and loyal cop.
