Mom and Disabled Son At Dinner Are Shocked By This Server’s Kind Act

A woman and her son out to dinner are shocked by the understanding and kindness of their server.

Linda Bondurant and her 51-year-old son Lee were out having a lovely dinner together in Raleigh, North Carolina. The two had visited an oyster bar that evening and were excited to try something new. However, one thing was making it a tad difficult for them to enjoy their food.

Lee had cerebral palsy, a disease that severely affected his motor skills. Trying his best, Lee was still finding it extremely difficult to get the food to his mouth. Linda, Lee’s mother was struggling to feed herself and her son at the same time.

Usually, the family had an extra set of hands, a friend or a family member, that would tag along to help. However, tonight it was just the mother and her son. Luckily, a good samaritan stood watch and offered to help.

The pair’s server, “Five,” was a young man waiting tables to put himself through college. He saw the struggle between Lee and his mother and promptly offered to feed Lee so the two could enjoy their evening together.

Lee was deeply touched by the gesture and said Five offered to do so with the utmost respect.

“That was the ultimate kindness he showed me,” Bondurant said. “I really appreciate what he did…”

Five’s boss wasn’t shocked by the kindness his employee showed the family. He commented saying “we’re fortunate enough to have him working for us.”
Linda couldn’t be more grateful to the young man and was moved to tears in gratitude. In her own words she said she was reminded her “there are still decent and compassionate people left in our country.”

The family members have since made the oyster bar a regular dinner spot. Their next visit? Lee’s birthday dinner the next month.

“For a total stranger to come up really touches a mother’s heart, especially when your child is special needs,” Linda said.
