Man Buys House Next Door to His Ex-Wife to Build Revenge Statue

Divorces can be messy. There is a lot of anger at the end of a relationship that once dominated someone’s life. People can do somewhat crazy things when they have that much anger.

Alan Markovitz recently decided that he needed to buy and move into the house next door to his ex-wife and her new boyfriend. Not only did he move into the home, but he devised a plan to make sure that she knew everyday just how angry he was regarding their breakup and how he felt about her. So he got a statue built in her honor and put it right in the front yard so that she could see it. Along with the rest of the neighborhood, to boot.

Alan commissioned an artist to build a giant 12-foot-tall bronze statue of a middle finger — and pointed it from his house directly to his ex

Lenka Tuohy, his ex-wife’s daughter, made the statue an internet sensation when she posted it online. She posted a tweet venting about how it’s hard to enjoy taking a bath now, because her favorite tub is in her mother’s bathroom which faces the middle-finger statue. Not quite the relaxing view you would want when you take a bath, I guess.

Markovitz reports that he doesn’t have a problem with his ex-wife really. It’s more about the fact that the man she is now living with is the man she was having an affair with when the marriage ended. He doesn’t seem to think that this “boyfriend” is really a man, which prompted his statue building.

To each his own, I guess. Markovitz is a professional businessman who owns strip clubs and is the author of the book, Topless Prophet: The True Story of America’s Most Successful Gentleman’s Club Entrepreneur. He reports that while he is “so over her” he really just can’t stand the boyfriend.

I guess that’s one way to get your point across. If nothing else, it’s a hilarious story.
