Walking down the streets of Liverpool, Johnny Walker noticed the lonely man huddled up in his wheelchair. The 35-year-old street performer had actually passed him quite a few times over the years. The two shared a smile or a wave from time to time, but nothing more … until Walker handed him the microphone.
“I spend a lot of time playing music on the streets and had seen this man many times over the years, but had never heard him sing,” Walker said.
Boy, was he in for a performance. Bernard grabbed the microphone, only to let out a beautiful, harmonious voice. Singing along to “Summertime,” the man’s face entirely lit up. Is was as though he became a new person performing in front of an audience.
“I was blown away by his voice and the passion of his delivery,” Walker added.
We couldn’t have said it better.
