Filled with nervous energy, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams took the field…for the first time, ever!
The team rookie made his debut against the St. Louis Cardinals, surrounded by friends and family. The 24-year-old’s wife and baby as well as the man’s father attended in support. Thankfully, they were there to share in the athlete’s first career victory.
When the game ended, the star athlete ran to the stands to share a special moment with father. With tears streaming down his face, Williams’ dad reached for his son in the hug of the century. But that wasn’t all…Williams gifted his father the game ball. The parent couldn’t have been more proud.
Next up was his wife Jackie. The couple celebrated the win with a kiss while Williams stroked the back of his sleeping toddler’s head.
All in all, it was an epic first game.
