Marry Poppins said it best with ‘a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.’ The Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital has a slightly different translation for ‘sugar.’


“It’s for the patients,” one operating room assistant explained. “Just seeing you in a tutu brightens their day, and it can keep them from thinking about what’s really going on.”
